Counter sensors (such as water meters, egg counters, and dump scales) may stop registering values if an unexpected or invalid value is received. When this happens, the system automatically stops reading from the sensor to prevent operational errors.
Step 1: Check Sensor Communication
If a counting input is not updating, first verify whether the sensor is communicating correctly:
Navigate to Zone Setup > Group Setup.
Identify the sensor's DGP number and channel.
Go to the DGP Diagnosis screen and check the corresponding DGP channel.
What to look for:
DGP Type should never be 0. If it is, the sensor lost communication.
The Count value should typically be between 150 and 5001. Values outside this range may indicate an error on the sensor configuration.
Step 2: Reset the Sensor
If the DGP is communicating but the sensor is still not showing any readings, you may need to manually reset the sensor by entering a valid count value:
- Return to Zone Setup > Group Setup.
- Input a realistic value into the sensor’s current reading field (for example, the reading from the same time on the previous day).
- This will "reset" the sensor and allow it to resume counting properly.
