Each zone can support up to 16 distinct lighting environments per group (e.g., aisle, top tier, bottom tier, etc.).
The system manages each lighting environment using two separate outputs: Light and Level.
- Light: Toggles the output on/off.
- Level: Adjusts the brightness level to that light output.
Lights can operate in two different behaviors. Single ramp or Intermitent. In both cases, the ramp behaves as specified in Ramp.
Ramp
The light ramp function gradually adjusts light intensity, promoting animal well-being and simulating the natural day-night cycle.
To configure a ramp to a light output. Go to Environmental overview then access the zone Environmental detail screen.
In the desired light output, click on the field below Level.
Then click on Control parameters.
| Ramp up | Ramping up duration. From Min. to the Max. brightness level configured. |
| Ramp down | Ramping down duration. From Max. to the Min. brightness level configured. |
| Min. Level | When ramping up the brightness starts at 00% and reaches this value instantly. When ramping down, the brightness drops from this value to 00% instantly. |
| Max. Level | Maximum brightness level of lights. |
| Time schedule | Assigns an existing Time schedule to the light output. The lights will use the Lights On/Off time from the assigned Time schedule. |
Offsets
- On Offset: Time added or subtracted (+/-) from the Time schedule -> Lights On time. This sets when the Ramp Up begins. For example, adding a +1 hour 30 minutes On Offset delays the Lights On time by 1 hour and 30 minutes. Subtracting (-) advances the start time accordingly.
- Off Offset: Time added or subtracted (+/-) from the Time schedule -> Lights Off time. This defines when the Ramp Down begins and follows the same logic as the On Offset.
Light ramp operation example:
Consider the following values.
| Time schedule | Lights on | 05:00 (05:00 AM) |
| Lights off | 17:00 (05:00 PM) | |
| Control parameters | Ramp up | 15 minutes |
| Ramp down | 15 minutes | |
| On offset | +15 minutes | |
| Off offset | -15 minutes | |
| Min. Level | 05% | |
| Max. Level | 100% |
NOTE: For each Light and Level output, the parameters values must match. Example:
Light:
Level:
Single ramp
To configure a single ramp per day, assign the light outputs (Light and Level) to Time Schedule 17 (0–999 day schedule). This schedule only allows one On and one Off time per day.
Intermittent ramps
To have the lights operate in multiple intervals throughout the day, assign the light outputs (Light and Level) to any Time Schedule other than 17. The On and Off intervals must be configured in the Time Schedule screen.
The lights will ramp up and down according to each configured On/Off interval.
Ensure that ramp durations do not overlap with the On/Off time intervals.
